Composer's Notes: This little piece has a precocious personality, similar to how I would imagine a bear cub would act.  Bearcub opens with sauntering quarter note groove, and features alternating moments of vulnerability and explosiveness.  I tried to balance the carefree playfulness of youth with the fearful moments of childhood - after all, it's a big scary world out there - even for a bear cub!
