This piece has a romantic/impressionist style that lends itself well to the water theme.  The flute and the piano are both featured as soloists throughout the piece.  In general, the piano part is probably a little more demanding than the flute part, but both have some more "meaty" material.  The mood of the piece is mostly reflective and serene, except for a tumultuous middle section in the parallel minor.
