Composer's Notes: With Watercolor Sky, I attempt to paint a sonorous view with warm harmonies and a tender melody. This piece is in the key of "C Major", but not really. You will explore a variety of tonal centers and colorful dynamics that showcase the full range of the piano. I wrote the melody of this piece for a workshop with one of my favorite musicians, Dinuk Wijeratne, who helped inspire the core harmonic structure of this piece. Dinuk is wildly creative and I have had the pleasure to glean musical tidbits from him on several occasions. Never pass up the chance to work with people who are better than you are!
